The HANS Device is the pioneer of auto racing head and neck restraints. The HANS works with the seat belt harness system to restrain the racer's head movement in conjunction with the torso which therefore, reduces the forces on the head and neck. Hans Devices are available in adult and youth sizes with your choice of helmet hardware. Originally founded by Jim Downing, later sold to Simpson Race Products. RaceDay Safety has been a distributor of the HANS since 2010. HANS was involved in a lawsuit with the makers of another head and neck restraint. The ruling prohibited anyone selling the competitors device in the State of Georgia, which, as far as we know, was pretty much just RaceDay Safety. During this time, Jim Downing contacted us to see if we would be interested in the HANS...of course we were.
